Tutor Information Session Monday September 12, 2016

Literacy South Halton is a non-profit volunteer group dedicated to providing basic literacy skills to adults in the South Halton region located in both Oakville and Burlington.  Over the past 36 years, we have helped many adult learners achieve better reading, writing and math skills to achieve their goals.  They might want to obtain a better job, employment, continue with post secondary education and/or enhance life skills.

All of our tutors must attend a two day workshop to become certified as Laubach tutor.  This is an internationally recognized method of teaching literacy.

If you can spare a few hours weekly, please join us for an Information Session on Monday September 12th.

Where:   Woodside Library, 1274 Rebecca Street

Time:      6:30pm – 8:30pm

Please call our office at 905-631-1770 to add your name to the waiting list.  After the information session, if you are interested in pursuing tutoring with us, you must:

complete an application form,

submit a copy of your resume,

schedule an  interview with our staff.

Upon acceptance as a certified tutor, two references will be required, including a valid police check and an annual membership fee of $20.00.  If you have any questions, please call our office anytime.

We look forward to meeting you September 12th!
